Know Your Fair Housing Rights
If you live near a college or university where there is an abundance of "student housing" complexes, make sure that these projects are owned directly by the University. It is ILLEGAL for private housing developments/complexes to explicitly rent to "students only" if they are not owned by the learning institution directly.
"Student Housing" is not a special right that private business real estate investors can promote. This is an illegal "CASH COW" business and goes directly in violation of the "Fair Housing Act of 1968" milking billions of dollars annually in the name of discrimination. Many municipalities are completely unware that there is no special exception to privately owned off campus student housing.
Contact HUD, your nearest Human Relations Office or the US FBI to investigate this basic right if you are aware of this activity.
